لقد كانت
الولايات المتحدة قوة رائدة في التعليم العالمي ، حيث انتشلت الملايين من
الأمية العالمية ، وسد فجوة التعليم وبناء الاقتصادات الرقمية على مستوى
العالم.
تحث طلال أبوغزاله العالمية الإدارة الأمريكية على رفع جميع العقوبات
والحظر المتعلق بالتعليم ضد سوريا ، حتى يتم منح الملايين فرصة الحصول على
تعليم حق أساسي من حقوق الإنسان.
لطالما دعمت الولايات المتحدة مبادرات التعليم في المنطقة ، لا سيما من
خلال وكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (أونروا)
وغيرها ، وهي القائد الأول لتطوير التعليم الدولي الذي كان هدفًا رئيسيًا
للولايات المتحدة وحلفائها.
لقد حصلت بنفسي على منحة دراسية من الأونروا
سمحت لي بمتابعة دراستي الجامعية في لبنان.
من مصلحة الدول في جميع أنحاء العالم تعزيز التعليم في سوريا ، والتي كما
نعلم جميعًا تسمح بتطوير مجتمعات حديثة ومتسامحة. ومن الصحيح أيضًا أن
السلام والتفاهم الأكبر يتحقق بين المتعلمين ، مما يساعد على كسر الأحكام
المسبقة وبناء الروابط بين الرجال والثقافات.
يجب أن نساعد سوريا على تجنب الوقوع في الحلقة المفرغة للحرمان من التعليم
وأن نبذل قصارى جهدنا لدعم الأطفال في البلاد الذين يتطلعون بشدة إلى تحسين
أنفسهم وعائلاتهم من خلال وسيلة التعليم.
المتعلمون أصدقاء للولايات المتحدة والعالم. سيكون رفع العقوبات عن التعليم
في سوريا موضع تقدير كهدية من الولايات المتحدة للشعب السوري خلال هذه
الأوقات الصعبة.
الرجاء مساعدتنا في مطالبة الإدارة الأمريكية بالرفع الدائم للعقوبات
المفروضة على التعليم ضد سوريا من خلال دعم هذا الالتماس

education sanctions against Syria. The United States has been a leading
force in global education, lifting millions out of global illiteracy,
bridging the education divide and building digital economies globally.
TAG.Global urges the US administration to remove all sanctions and
embargoes related to education against Syria, so that millions may be
afforded the chance to obtain an education a fundamental human right.
The United States has always supported education initiatives in the
region, particularly through UNRWA and others, and is the foremost
leader of international educational development which has been a prime
objective of the US and its allies. I myself was the recipient of a
UNRWA scholarship that allowed me to pursue my University education in
Lebanon.
It is in the interest of nations across the World to promote
education in Syria, which as we are all aware allows the development of
modern, tolerant societies. It is also true that greater peace and
understanding come about between educated people, helping to break
prejudices and build bonds between men and cultures.
We must help Syria avoid falling into the vicious cycle of education
depravation and do our utmost to support the children in the country
that are desperately looking to better themselves and their families
through the vehicle of education.
Educated people are friends of the United States and the World. The
lifting of sanctions on education in Syria would be valued as a gift
from the United States to the Syrian people during these challenging
times.
Please help us in calling out to the US administration for the
permanent lifting of education sanctions against Syria by supporting
this petition.
